About this series: This bundle includes the #500 series mapsheets covering the south British Columbia coast from Victoria to past Cape Caution, allowing coverage of a transit from the border at Washington State to the entrance to the Central BC Coast at Smith Sound. The included mapsheets are uniformly scaled with a contiguous/overlapping format to allow seamless planning of your Inside Passage transit through south British Columbia. The mapsheets come folded into handy 4x9" format and are double-sided to reduce the bulk and the number of mapsheets necessary to complete the transit.

Use it for:

  • Trip planning and logistics. If you prefer a table-top version of unfolded mapsheets better suited for chart tables, see our #300 option.  
  • Augment electronic navigation with coastal overviews.
  • Easily calculate distances using the UTM 1km grid lines found on all mapsheets.
  • Camping. Kayakers and canoeists will find a detailed inventory of coastal camping locations throughout the mapsheets updated for 2025 as well as strategic rest areas/beaches for land access when needed.
  • Anchorages. This series includes the most comprehensive list of anchorages currently available. The selection is constantly being refined and locations added or removed as we cruise the coast aboard the Wild Coast Publishing office MV Wild Coast. Note that locations are suggestions only and do not include textual support or descriptions, and locations may not be suitable in certain conditions or for certain vessels. They are recommended as starting points to research locations. Additional knowledge is recommended before deciding on an anchorage location.
  • Replace marine charts for on-water orientation when not needed for technical/motorized vessel navigation. Since depth soundings are not included on these mapsheets, correctly scaled marine charts should be used when electronic navigation is not available.  

All 5 Chart Assistants are printed on heavy synthetic paper to withstand the toughest conditions. 

Packaging: All 2025 mapsheets ordered online will be shipped with a clip rather than a plastic wrapper. The clip will help maintain the mapsheet's folded shape while reducing plastic consumption. 

Differences from the #300 bundle: This series comes folded with maps double-sided. The #300 is shipped in a tube and covers the same geographic area, but with twelve single-sided mapsheets that come clipped together so it can be used in a booklet form.

Combining with Deck Toppers: These mapsheets can be used in combination with the Deck Topper series to fill in the vast majority of the southern British Columbia coast in greater detail. Use the Inside Passage series for the larger overview necessary for a transit, and use the Deck Toppers to explore destinations of choice with a more detailed scaling. 

UTM Grid Lines: All 500-series mapsheets include UTM grid lines. Learn to understand and make the most of them.
